The Boy and the Magic Robot

In a town that had a clock tower,
There lived a boy
Who liked to sing.
The scaredy-cat boy,
He cannot sing in front of people,
Having no confidence in his voice.

"Music recital..."
"At any rate, this year too..."

The doctor who saw that
Unable to sleep for every night,
He makes it for the boy.
Just by teaching it WORDS
And melodies, look.
A magic robot that sings as you like.

"I will fully express the music which you have made."
"I will fully express the music which you have made."
The boy who stared in wonder
Ever so timidly, pressed its button.

Though it was a voice that was just a little unskillful,
That voice that echoed in the night sky
Was definitely getting through to the boy's heart.
It was getting through.

The boy unable to sleep
Every night since that day,
He creates for the robot.
Each time he taught it WORDS
And melodies, look.
The magic robot that sings almost happily.

"I want someone to listen to the music I've made--"
"He's gotta be kidding if he brought a machine!"
The boy who kept a watchful eye
Ever so timidly, pressed its button.

Though it was a voice that was just a little unskillful,
That voice that echoed around the world
Was definitely getting through to people's hearts.
It was getting through.

"Your songs forever..."
"Your songs forever..."

The seasons passed before they knew it,
And the boy became an adult, too.
At that time, the song you taught me.
"Happy birthday."
Since I remember it even now.
"Go and open it!"

Though it is a voice that is just a little unnatural,
Is this voice that echoed in the night sky
Getting through to that heart of yours even now?
"This song..."
Is it getting through?

"Thank you."
"My singing voice, can you hear it?"
